Names of Rivers on the map?

For the next release, it would be nice to somehow have the names of rivers on the map. When I read stuff on the Internet about conflicts in the Caucasus region, areas are often referred to by river valley names, and I have not much idea where they are, or even of they are on the Lockon map.

 

For instance, can anyone give me approx Lat/Long of Kodori river valley, Inguri River valley?

How about a heading and distance from Suhumi instead of coordinates.

 

Kodori: HDG 75 degrees, DIST 70 km. Many of the tributaries combine in this general area as it flows to the sea.

 

Inguri (Enguri?): HDG 84 degrees, DIST 150 km. The headwaters are off the map as is its meeting with the sea.

Well I did some searching on the net myself and did find this .PDF map from UN Observer mission in Georgia (UNOMIG), which helped a bit.

There are maps here that cover the Crimea and Caucasus.

They are at 1:100,000, but in Russian.

I use them for detailed mission planning for CAS and Ground Strike.

Note that agricultural areas as well as woods/forests are in green, unlike OS maps which use green just for wooded areas.

Hey JimMack, top find !! These maps are sweet. Unlike Ironhand, I can't read Russian, but nevertheless these are the mutts nuts....:D

 

Jeroen's link is nice too as its neat search function points ya to where you wanna be looking, and it zooms in to name pretty small towns in our area of interest.
