Yes, I know I'm definitely in the wrong category but I'm new to this forum and it legit wouldn't let me select the actual category I need in order to get some help. I've been playing DCS for about 2\3 years now and I've had bad issues with the tracks/replay system. Whenever I record my gameplay, and save the resulting track in order to watch it at a later time it doesn't reflect my in game actions at all. For example, if I took off and engaged bandits 2 minutes into my flight and took them out the replay will just show me taking off and instantly crashing into the ground. I've noticed this issue is especially bad with the Viper and the Tomcat. I've tried making shorter tracks, reducing the number of Ai planes and vehicles, limiting my flight to just simple takeoff and climbs and nothing seems to work. Is this a widespread issue or what? Is it a bug and if so can I expect anything to be done? I'm a very tiny content creator on YouTube with about 4 subs (I know, lool) and I really would love to upload the hours of gameplay footage I've recorded but it's legit unwatchable. If this has to be removed because it's in the wrong spot I completely understand and get it but can someone point me in the right direction after you remove this post. Thank you in advance.

Yes the track system is bugged and has been for a long time. ED needs to rebuild it but there are other priorities ahead of that on their list.

The severity of track issues varies from module to module. The F-14 is probably the most issue prone, and it's near impossible to get a functioning Tomcat track even if it's only a few seconds long.

One work around is that server tracks seem to have a better success rate at recording events properly. There is a trick to running a DCS server on the same PC that you're running your local DCS copy. With this you can play even single player missions on a server and get server tracks. If you search on the forum you should find more details.

Another reported tip is to replay a track right after DCS starts (if you've just played a mission, restart the game before replaying a track). I haven't tested it myself yet.

The reason server tracks work is that tracks are only bugged for yourself. This means that if you fly online for example, your own track will show everyone correctly except yourself. This also means that in an F-14 the pilots track file will invariably be bugged while a RIO in the same aircraft will get a perfect track, even of "himself".

-Col. Russ Everts opinion on surface-to-air missiles: "It makes you feel a little better if it's coming for one of your buddies. However, if it's coming for you, it doesn't make you feel too good, but it does rearrange your priorities."

I had this replay problem as well. I would land perfect on the carrier then watch the replay crash my F18c into the sea 200 meters away from the carrier. Every replay was the same. Crash, crash, crash. I rolled back a few releases until I got to 2.7.16.28157 and now all my tracks replay as recorded. Not sure if will fix everyone's issues but for me it was the solution.
