Hardware upgrade

Can anyone advise me on a high performance motherboard that will work with Nvidia SLI and has 775 intel CPU slot for a CORE 2 Duo procesor AND can handle ddr2 800 memory?

The ASUS Striker II Extreme is definitely one of the best (if not the best) LGA 775 motherboards currently on the market. Depending on your budget you may find it on the expensive side (i.e. sub $200.00 US Dollars).

I believe the ASUS Rampage Formula supports SLI and it is also a pretty highly regarded board.

 

The ASUS Striker II Extreme is not really one of the best LGA 775 mobos on the market. It also utilizes DDR3 RAM, IIRC.

It is also quite expensive (about $40 or so more than an ASUS Rampage Formula). The Striker II Extreme is currently $329.99 at Newegg. The 790i chipset is, IMO, overpriced.

Correctb the Asus striker II extreme only runs on ddr3.
