Fabiano-VIKING Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Hey guys! Why do I sometimes see COLORED GAUGES in the Huey? Once in a while I notice that the gauges on the Huey dash have colored indications. Does it depend on a specific livery or country? I've noticed it in some random servers, but could not find the huey with colored dash in the mission editor. I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Fabiano-VIKING Posted April 1, 2022 Author Posted April 1, 2022 Hi guys, I'm sorry to bring this up again... but I have tried pretty much all liveries and set the Huey as civil aircraft (by checking the little check box) but I couldn't see the colored gauges in any of the livery variations. It's not that I really wanna have colors on my Huey lol but I'm really trying to understand what it's going on lol
jumphigh Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 As far as I know cockpit does not change with livery, you have to set it inside of special options. There are special cockpit mods beside of liveries which have to be installed inside of "Liveries\Cockpit_UH-1H" in your DCS profile. For example I have the cockpit versions vivid colors vivid colors civilian Rabb-UH-1H-NoMipMaps All 3 available as user download, the second could be your choice. 1

So what I saw was in some particular servers. These different cockpits don't normally come with DCS, they had them installed on the servers themselves. Now I get it, thanks a lot! =)

I don't play online but I'm in doubt that a server mission can replace your cockpit textures. It's not like a mission-dependent livery! You have to do it yourself: Copy the cockpit mod in your profile folder, switch to in special options. It's the same with the English cockpits of SU-25T or SA-342 Gazelle.

That makes sense! But there is something weird, cause I have never installed any mods for the Huey. lol Crazy hehehe

The first two first pictures were taken in a server long time ago (I'm sorry I can't remember what server I was flying). The last picture I took today and shows the regular panel. You can notice colors and markers on the gauges. 1
jumphigh Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Looks like "vivid colors civilian". Maybe I'm wrong and it can be set server side (or mission wise in general) with a livery and is overriding your special settings? Beside the VSI it doesn't look very different compared to standard pit? Edited April 6, 2022 by jumphigh
DishDoggie Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Thank You for the Pictures. The First 2 pictures have the Instrument's Gauges Mod that Makes them look like a real Huey. The last pic has the standard default Instrument's Gauges. Looks like Server side changes through Mods are the reason. Like you said you have never installed any Mod. It has to be from the Server then. Edited April 7, 2022 by DishDoggie forgot something 1
Fabiano-VIKING Posted April 7, 2022 Author Posted April 7, 2022 Hmm, that is interesting. Taking a look at the other from threads... I guess since both cockpits panels (the image files) normally come inside DCS World folders, the Server somehow managed to switch these. But anyway... now I know that you have to mess with files/MODs and that is not livery dependent. This is what I wanted to know. Thank you guys for taking the time to discuss about this. Cheers! 1
