C525 Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 (edited) Hey everyone, few weeks ago I came across a constat game crash. I can start DCS, select Missions, start and do all the pre-flight stuff. As soon as I taxi out (Syria) or few minutes in flight (Caucasus) I keep seeing artefacts and then moments later it crashes. I did a repair, updated all drivers, ran the debug mode. Debug mode seems to delay the crash, but the artefacts are the same and inevitably it will crash. System: Win10, 32GB RAM, Zotac 1080ti, Ryzen 7 2700X I know it's not the beefiest system, but up until now I was able to run it quite fine with my Rift 2. I also get CTDs in MSFS. I did a lot of Benchmarks and Stress Test (except VRAM) and it performs normal even under OC'ed conditions. Edit: What I noticed looking at the Performance graphs, I tend to have around 12GB of RAM being used, with the Commit Charge at 22GB. Once the crash happens the Commit Charge spikes at around 30GB. Not sure if that is related in any way. First File is pre-repair dcs.log-20220310-135128.zip dcs.log-20220310-142630.zip Edited March 10, 2022 by C525
Flappie Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Your DCS crashes after a series of DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED messages. Since you get artifacts before the crash, all points to a GPU issue. Try this for a start: Open NVIDIA control panel, click Help, then enable Debug mode. Run DCS and see if crashes keep happening. ---

Thanks for your reply. As mentioned, I did run it in Debug Mode. Artifacts are still visible and it will crash, takes longer though. I tried Nevada, that seems to work, but only requires about 7GB of VRAM... I will do some more testing tomorrow. Thanks again. dcs.log-20220310-171223.zip
Flappie Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Oops, sorry. You can try to re-seat your GPU on your motherboard, and dust it off. ---
C525 Posted March 11, 2022 Author Posted March 11, 2022 I did that, and also tried an old driver. No Artifacts in Debug Mode, but still crashes. Might need to get a loaner card from a friend. Anyway, thanks again! dcs.log-20220311-115145.zip
ED Team maximov Posted March 12, 2022 ED Team Posted March 12, 2022 No, the old driver will not help in this case. Too bad the debug mode didn't help. Please attach a screenshot of the frequency at which the video card core is running when the DCS is running.
