franx Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 I have the Russian version of DCS. After upgrading my BIOS and board drivers, I just upgraded my CPU from an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ to a dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+. I then applied the AMD dual core optimizer patch for games. LOMAC:FC and all of my other games and sims seem to work fine with the new CPU. But I can't start DCS. I get to the main screen, but when I try to play a mission, I get a weird alert box in Cyrillic with three boxes. Anybody know what the problem might be? aka MadMonk; Windows 10, 64 bit, Radeon 6800XT gpu, Ryzen 5 5600 cpu, 32 gig ram; Samsung 2TB EVO SSD, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick, Saitek combat rudder pedals; Oculus Rift.

Agreed it sounds like a registration issue. Take a screen shot of the prompt and post it in the thread so that someone can interpret the prompt. franx Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Here's what I get after I click on Instant Action or Mission, etc. aka MadMonk; Windows 10, 64 bit, Radeon 6800XT gpu, Ryzen 5 5600 cpu, 32 gig ram; Samsung 2TB EVO SSD, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick, Saitek combat rudder pedals; Oculus Rift.
RvETito Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 It's a Starforce message, has nothing to do with your CPU. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
ZaltysZ Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 If you activated DCS before CPU upgrade, when you will have to reactivate it. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
franx Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Yes, that has to be it. OK, I don't have the English Quick Start Guide. To reactivate, should I just erase my installation and reinstall from the original DL? aka MadMonk; Windows 10, 64 bit, Radeon 6800XT gpu, Ryzen 5 5600 cpu, 32 gig ram; Samsung 2TB EVO SSD, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick, Saitek combat rudder pedals; Oculus Rift.
Kuky Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 before you uninstal... deactivate your current activation (run Protect.exe and chose to activate/deactivate and follow prompts) then when you reinstall you can reuse same activation key. By the way to see Russian text you need to open Regional Settings (in windows Control Panel) and set Russian as your non-unicode language PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
