Hi, everyone,

I want to ask a question about f16.

In the case of f18, if we lock a target by using radar (without arm on), we can see the distance and the relative speed between the target and ourselves.

Do you know how to see the distance and the relative speed in the case of f16?

There are a few places where those numbers are.

Range can be determined by the position of the contact on the FCR page compared to the scale you set as well as the position of the closure rate number with the ">" sign on the scale on the HUD. It should also be displayed on the HUD with a number on the bottom right.

Closure number is the number below OVRD on the FCR page or the number next to the WEZ/Range scale on the HUD.

Check out the manual to see more.

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, I known it. So there is no precise number for the range if we do not use arm on.

If you want precise range on the hid, go inyo msl overide mode or AA mastermode button on the ICP. Your range will be in the lower right corner.

Yes, it seems that this is the unique way.

The distance to any airborne target should be shown on the HUD, right side in text, e.g. F022.0. This should be the case in NAV master mode as well. That info box shows the priority sensor slant range which in all cases I can think of would be the A2A sensor when it has an A2A target of interest.

Yes. In the case of F18, the distance is shown on the HUD. But, at present, F16 cannot do this if we do not use AA master model. For example, I do not want to use AA master model when I approach to a tanker.
