I guess a simple one: Keep a helicopter group on the ground with hot engines at mission start

I want a group of Hueys load up some infantry at mission start. (These guys need an Apache escort and a clear LZ!)

Only works when I set them to cold start, so the infantry men have time to board the aircraft. When I let them do a hot start, they take off immediately and land afterwards to load the troops. I tried with "Landing" in advanced WP options but didn't work.

I'm OK with the workaround (cold start) but really want to know how it's done. Couldn't be that hard.

Not a simple one... The task is actually working this way with Helos : the helo does land to embark, and immediately takes off when soldiers are on board, whatever the options you choose. (imo task is wip...)

The workaround works because it takes time to cold start, and the embark task is active, so the soldiers, if nearby,  have time to embark, but if they come from far enough the cold start helos will take off and than land to embark soldiers.

yes, exactly! The reason I set them to cold start.

Thought it would be possible to delay them starting their flight task with rotors spinning at the beginning.

Seems to be an ME option that is really missing!
