I mean I am not an artist and know nothing about particles or triangles. But with all that I think I see similar if not same explosions for any type of art shell or missile or anything really. Will it be super hard or difficult to employ or render in real time I do not know but it'll nice have an object based explosions may something that is pre-rendered and in memory according what's in the mission editor what you start mission and then activated upon impact. Also about fuel trucks or tanks shells or may be supply trucks with bombs we need bigger booms for such explosions and higher after effects.
