Carda Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 (edited) As I prefer flying my Apache with the TADS off (FPS loss when switched on), I can tell what target George is targeting when I select the target in the list using his UI helper. But when there is only one target he calles 'target locked' or something but how do I know what kind of target he is aiming/looking at? Thanks in advance Edited April 11, 2022 by Carda
LooseSeal Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 8 minutes ago, Malakhit said: I am assuming you mean that you fly with the PNVS off, as the pilot has no real control over TADS. No, I see what the OP is getting at, and he is right. He doesn't want to display the TADS as a video source because it eats his FPS. The issue seems to be that whenever you ask George to scan an area for targets, and there is only one target available - he will immediately lock and store that target without giving you a list - he'll just lock it, and you have no idea what it is from the pilot's perspective. I think this is tied with the well-recognised problem that George doesn't identify targets. So to the OP I would say you only have two solutions... either switch on the TADS video feed for a moment and identify the target, then switch it off again. Or, wait until ED have implemented an identification function for George. I can't see it happening soon though, given Petrovich still hasn't got it either. 2 - i7-7700k - 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz - GTX 1080 8GB - Installed on SSD - TM Warthog DCS Modules - A-10C; M-2000C; AV8B; F/A-18C; Ka-50; FC-3; UH-1H; F-5E; Mi-8; F-14; Persian Gulf; NTTR
Carda Posted April 11, 2022 Author Posted April 11, 2022 Thank you both for your input. Indeed @LooseSeal that was the problem I was having. I'll opt for a quick TADS on/off when that situation occurs next time however that wasn't the solution i wished for but it has to do. We need some Janes Longbow 2 developers on this really fast 2
