SAAHS BIT doesn't work

Doing a cold start on ramp, I am following the shore based procedures as printed on the manual, beginning on page 280.

Step 43 on page 286 is the SAAHS BIT...

Described flow doesn't work, as

1. pressing P/B 12 doesn't do anything, there isn't any reaction at this point

hence

2. the TEST doesn't appear

3. caution/advisory lights don't illuminate

This BIT doesn't initiate and can't be run.

 

any ideas?

is missing and including this test into the training mission and in the checklist without this advisory could prevent confusion.

Agreed, my guess is that it isn't implemented as well. I would think it is a lack of MPCD layer functionality from subject matter experts, maybe it was an ITAR issue? It would be a cool functionality, but I would hate "to go down" in chocks if a Flaps or SAAHS BIT failure causes a downing discrepancy LOL! That being said, do we know if the flight model has incorporated a SAAHS OFF flight characteristics envelope?
