  1. I second that, it would be cool to be able to "dispense" a smoker out the door kind of like a flare salvo. Extra credit if we can engage enemies with and M4 as well!
  2. Thank you for the help and your dedication to the community! It works! I applied both of your methods to fully understand them and chose to stick with the alternate method. The font definitely needs to be worked on. Do you think there would be anything buried within the WWsimapp files that could lead to a correction of the fonts? perhaps somewhere in the F-18 since that's what the MIP was designed around?

  4. Hello all and good day! Is there anyone in this thread that has exported the mods MFD's to either an external monitor or to a MIP? I've placed a comment in the multiple display bugs section as well in hopes I can get some guidance. Thank everyone in advance for any help!
  5. Hello all! I have a few question regarding the T-45 mod and exporting the MFD's onto my MIP. Has anyone here successfully exported the L and R MFD's of the T45 mod? I have taken the "wwtmonitor.lua" that simapp created, copied and renamed it for testing exports without simapp running to learn how to export on my own. I created a MonitorSetup folder in my saved games/dcs/config folder with the renamed lua file. I can see it and select it from the drop down menu in the "monitors" options. The A-10, F-18, AV-8 etc. will automatically export no problems. So I figured to give the T-45 mod a try with no luck, it won't automatically export. I figured I am at a point where I need to make a manual entry into the T-45's .lua files? I have found both the left and right "indicator" files in the mods directory for the T45. I need a little help with how to make the entry into those specific files so an export can take place. I can't fully grasp from the guide mentioned in this thread on how to input the numbers needed for export. Thank everyone in advance for your time and advice with my question. I will respond as soon as I can...working and flying DCS from Japan.
  6. Check this group out in discord...I am sure that a livery artist will get in contact with you about a request once you're setup in the group's chat.
  7. I have the MIP and the Harrier, works great! See this post below with the details of how to apply these files into SIMAPP...Good read... If you have the Hornet, the switch to the AV-8 will be smooth due to the nature of the Navy/USMC UFC's. Its pretty seamless honestly, it makes the AV-8 experience much easier for sure. The below thread will discuss the programming for the Harrier, the OP and a group of fellow members have been updating the MIP actively so there is a lot of good info in that thread. Credit to all of those involved in expanding the functionality of the MIP!
  8. I appreciate the help with the dimensions! I received my MIP and it fit like a glove into my pit. Now to get the screens sorted with Simapp. So far so good!
  9. Very much appreciated! Thank you @rob10!
  10. @FZG_Immel,Looks like it will be a slick setup when completed! I have two questions…what is the overall width of the fully assembled mip and what is the distance between the outermost rear clamp locations? I have been milling about purchasing and wanted to build a desktop pit to fit. I’ve done some rough math from winwings website but figured to ask an owner of the MIP for clarification. Thank you for any help with dimensions!
  11. I wonder if you're in ground idle without knowing?...A mistake I was making was moving my (HOTAS)throttle and it causing the Harrier's throttle to move into ground idle, preventing a start without me knowing...I prefer to hide the controls. I had to remember to not move my HOTAS before the igniters started firing off and RPM's start increasing on a direct engine start. I made a habit of also just hitting my key bind for throttle cutoff before I start up to reset the throttle in case of accidental movement. Hope this helps.
  12. Has anyone tried the “CORE” mod from echo19audio.com for comparison? They have modded a lot of audio for DCS from the looks of it. It’s noted on their website that the Harrier audio has been tweaked. I have not downloaded this mod yet, maybe this can help?
  13. I can't agree more with him regarding scenarios in the sims...I have had the same experience setting up professional simulation training scenarios and sometimes they just don't work, cause bugs or crash our systems entirely. It can create wasted training time. Unfortunately all of this programming/development is cost driven. With that in mind there is a balance of what was mentioned above by @Aquorys regarding full modelling 1 to 1 of the airframe, avionics, flight model etc... Most times the quality of the overall picture generated scenes are left to the "cost savings" side of overall sim build costs within budgetary constraints. The first time I stepped into a scale sim as a sim tech, was a CH-47 trainer and the scale was on point, looked the part and flew great, but the overall projected image was sub par in my opinion. Years past, working in a newer sim now, the overall image quality has gotten better, but seemed to stay stagnate. How much are you willing to spend on development of your database for your projected "map" per se. Firing up DCS, one can immediately see the difference. The scale sim picture quality has room for improvement for sure, but the reality of cost savings is shifting the market toward mixed reality and immersion into VR. In my opinion, there will always be the need for scale simulators, but with VR and mixed reality improvements, it's going to be harder to sell costly projection systems in lieu of VR.
  14. Sounds pretty accurate in my opinion. I haven't launched, recovered or ran a Harrier in years. It's a sound that I cannot forget. With that, I was shocked by the sound and overall quality when I purchased the module earlier this year. I have worked with both the USMC and RAF GR variants (2003-2008). I feel like the motors in the RAF (-406's) birds seemed to whine more than our 408's did, especially as mentioned above by @exhausted when the bird is idling. I've never heard the older DCS sounds to compare that to what other users have mentioned. My guess is I made my purchase well into updates of the DCS Module we have at this point. I'm sure there could be minor adjustments for some fan chatter in the cockpit, especially when coasting down from shutdown....maybe a few "pops" of some blades that need to be greased up!
  15. Found a solution for anyone utilizing multiple projectors and blending/warping software. My setup is two projectors utilizing SimPit Blending software, windows 10, Nvidia RTX3060. -Previous OpenBeta 2.7.17.29493 I did not have to have the Vsync and Full Screen checked in the options menu, systems tab. I have my Vsync "off" in the Nvidia control panel as well. Updated to latest OpenBeta version 2.7.18.30348 and I lost all blending functionality... - Troubleshot a few items and discovered that I now have to indeed "check" the "Vsync and Full Screen" boxes in the options menu, system tab to restore blending function after DCS restarts. - I then "Unchecked" vsync by itself and with the restart the blending function was again lost. Something with Vsync seems to be causing my issue in this latest update? *** Checking both Full Screen and Vsync in the options menu, system tab successfully restored my blending functionality with a dual projector setup.***
