DavePastry Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 so I did something to my night vision somewhere along the way and I cannot sort out what, I've tried uninstalling mods and doing a repair to no avail. NVG is no longer looking through goggles and is just a filter across my entire vision, the HUD (and other light sources) are so blown out it makes night flying pretty much impossible. any ideas? dburne Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) Night vision in VR takes up the whole screen, at least it does for me in the Hornet. Adjust your gain to accommodate for the brightness. I have the gain adjustment assigned to two buttons on my HOTAS. DavePastry Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 it used to be goggles in hog as I recall, I tended to avoid night missions until I got an Aero, I'll try fiddling with the gain I910900K, 4090, 32gb,Varjo Aero, no compromises: all VR all the time.
DavePastry Posted May 29, 2022 Author Posted May 29, 2022 (edited) with the gain all the way down the hud is still barely readable, is this normal? last time I flew a night mission in the hog (which was some time ago) I recall things looking quite a bit different, the grain also seems to look/act quite a bit different. DavePastry Posted May 30, 2022 Author Posted May 30, 2022 ok actually solved it for the most part, I removed the amd super resolution openvr.dll and revered to original, for some reason repair didn't clear that. now its back to goggles instead of just turning the whole screen green, there's still a weird filter over half of one of my eyes but its at least usable now. 1 I910900K, 4090, 32gb,Varjo Aero, no compromises: all VR all the time.
