pegasus1 Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Ok, my home internet connection isn't great, this is a country/infrastructure issue. My work Internet is fast and stable. Can i DL a paid for map or module outside of the game environment (at work on my laptop) and then transfer it to my gaming PC once home. Is this possible? It would save me some serious time if so. I do this with Steam games, DL on my gaming laptop at work then just transfer over via a NVMe external drive once home, Steam see's the game and im good to go. Thanks in advance. AMD 3800x, Asrock 570X Taichi, 32GB Corsair Platinum, MSI 1080Ti, Corsair MP600 Gen 4 1TB NVMe. Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe, Samsung 860 1TB SSD, Custom Watercooling, AOC 32" 4K Screen.
Yurgon Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 (edited) It might work, or it might be a colossal waste of time. Do you run DCS from ED, or via Steam? And the next question, can you run DCS on your laptop? If you run DCS without Steam, I would simply launch DCS and install all the DCS modules on the laptop at work. The key folder that you want to copy over to your gaming PC back at home is (default path): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\ There should be no downside to copying all of its contents. All of your personal config is in Saved Games: C:\Users\{Your Windows Username}\Saved Games\DCS No need to copy that one over from the laptop, you can just keep the one you already have on the gaming PC. And if you've never installed DCS on the gaming PC, no worries, this folder will then be created automatically upon the first launch. Now the big question is if DCS properly detects all the installed modules. I think it will, and you could also run a DCS Repair to see what DCS thinks of it: Windows Icon -> Eagle Dynamics -> Repair DCS World Good luck and let us know how it goes!
