not planned Link 4A tactical data link functions

Hi everyone,

The Hornet now has its Link 4A data link page on the UFC present, however, right now the only Link 4A function available is ACLS. Will the Hornet also be receiving Link 4A's tactical data link functions, as in the Tomcat?

Note, for those wondering - this will not facilitate a fighter-to-fighter link with the Tomcat. That function is for Link 4C which was exclusive to the Tomcat and only facilitates 4 Tomcats linking together - so more of an intraflight data link.

Did Link4 have any tactical functions in the Hornet anymore in the 2000s?

My guess is that in the timeframe our Hornet is modeled, ACLS was the only thing Link4 was used for. But I really don't know.

I don't really know either, if it's the case that the functions are absent on a legacy Hornet for the timeframe modelled (though to me I feel that's unlikely, but happy to be proven wrong).

 

EDIT:

The Link 4 option is present under SENSR of the SA page, so it does look like in can contribute to the SA page, but it (as with FLTR and HARM) is X'd out as it's not implemented (and now looks to not be planned - seems like there's a growing list of features our Hornet should have but isn't getting):
