zb2oby
Hi, As mentioned on the Discord (Zed), me and other players have experienced a performance issue in VR. Wherever we spawn, except on water, under 900/1000ft AGL there is a big fps drop It is just like if there was a fictive line at 1000ft which causes new texture loading. e.g : +/- 1000ft - 1ft : very laggy (between 15 and 20 fps) +/- 1000ft : very very smooth (45 fps with motion reprojection, so, probably more) usually, with my "middle class" rig on Syria Map (which is known to be a fps eater), i've no problem for big missions with a lot of objects and scripts and big weather. but here with no cloud and alone on the map, i've experienced this each time. what i've try to fix but "no joy" : - delete dcs cache files - restart computer/dcs many times, - install last nvidia drivers for my RTX 3060 TI 8gb - decrease textures level or others params in DCS My specs (pretty low but, i repeat, on Syria all is fine even at low level): I5 9400f, 32Go DDR4,RTX 3060 Ti 8Go OC gaming TRIO, Hp Reverb G2, 1To SSD on Sata 6 Thanks for your investigation. zb2oby
Hi, i've done some tests and i've got results i could reproduce everytime ! With a mission which contain several modules clients all spwanable in the same moutains zone around Ushuaia : F14B, F16C, M2000C, Spitfire LF MK IX 1/ - delete fxo cache files and reboot DCS and launch the mission - choose Spitfire LF MKIX or F16C at first intention - fly very low level with and observe very smooth result - then without quit mission, change role and choose M2000C or F14B client - fly very low level and observe big FPS degradation 2/ - delete fxo cache files and reboot DCS and launch the mission - choose M2000C or F14B at first intention - fly very low level with and observe big FPS degradation - then change role and choose Spitfire LF MKIX or F16C - fly very low level and Observe big FPS degradation is still here. 3/ - without deleting fxo cache files and reboot DCS and launch the mission - choose Spitfire LF MKIX or F16C at first intention - fly very low level and observe big FPS degradation - then change role and choose M2000C or F14B client - fly very low level and observe big FPS degradation is still here. ===> So that problem seems to be relative to a relation between the choosen module at first intention and the generated fxo cache files. i'm not sure but i've probably identified the fxo involved : 4/ - delete fxo cache files and reboot DCS and launch the mission - choose M2000C - fly very low level and observe big FPS degradation - then quit mission and Alt+Tab to delete the last bigger generated fxo file (~700-800ko) and relaunch the mission - choose M2000C - fly very low level and observe very smooth result see the attached fxo generated file i delete from cache 11a5ae3be88306301e9f0bf6db9550d4.fxo
