JTAC Conversation initiation

Hi Guys,

I've been using VAICOM for a while, but new to JTAC operations.  I can seem to have the whole conversation with JTAC, except for the initial call up.  If I say "Playtime 30 minutes" for example, I get a "waiting for additional input".  Other than that it works great.  Any tips?

Do it on screen a time or two till you get the jist of the order of commands. In fact I have the "Show Options" selected in Vaicom, so I just say " show options" and then I can follow the screen messages on what to say next. Yeah I am lazy. But when seeing the messages you select the message by saying take 1, take 2, take 3, ,etc - whichever choice is relevant for you.

Try adding the name of the JTAC as part of that initial command. For example, if the JTAC is Playboy then give the command "Playboy, Playtime 30 Minutes." where the comma denotes a short pause. In general if you get "waiting for additional input" it means that you left something out of your command. Also, if you have not yet contacted the JTAC then you may have to first issue a SELECT command. (That isn't necessary if you are using Instant Select.)
