Hi,

I am sure it has been told before, but I have read a lot of pages looking for a clear answer.

I am concerned about the DRM and Copy protection. I really want to buy the game, but first I need to know facts.

1. I heard the english retail version will include a less invasive form of starforce. What is exactly the difference?.

2. Does the game use a game key?. What happens if my key is stolen?.

3. Will the game be distributed by steam?. Will use full DMR and starforce?.

4. How ED will handle DRM and activations through the years?. I sim has a very long live.

I hope ED makes a sticky with an official answer, even a search didn't help me.

Thanks.

I will answer what I can and offer useless conjecture for the rest.

1) This one is less invasive. Specifically, this one does not latch onto your colon wall and report biometric data back to StarForce through your LAN connection. Big difference.

2) a. Yes

b. If your key is stolen a set of interlocking stainless steel bars will release from the ceiling and enclose the perpetrator within your office. You may then tickle, torture, or titillate your captive until police arrive.

3) No Idea.

4) DRM will be given a comprehensive benefits package in its peak years and then will be eased out of the workforce by a snotty, wet-nosed, recent college grad and put out to pasture in a run down nursing home while collecting a pittance of a pension check. DRM will slowly fade into obscurity, ultimately expiring in a sudden, terrible but humorous incident with a vacuum cleaner, 2 tennis balls and a small marmot.

Glad I could help.

"A true 'sandbox flight sim' requires hi-fidelity flyable non-combat utility/support aircraft."

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

This implementation does not install drivers for hardware (or any drivers).

It does however require activation.

2. Does the game use a game key?. What happens if my key is stolen?.

Yes, and, depending on how you will luck out ED might provide you with another or ... unfortunately you'll have to buy a new one.

3. Will the game be distributed by steam?. Will use full DMR and starforce?.

a) still on the table b) probably

4. How ED will handle DRM and activations through the years?. I sim has a very long live.

If you run out you can write to ED for a new serial number. They are usually pretty good about providing them.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
