Marmotflyer Posted July 2, 2022 Posted July 2, 2022 When I turn time acceleration on, I get a heavy frame drop, from 100+ frames at 1x to 6 frames at 2x. This occurs in every map, with a blank mission or a heavily populated mission. The actual time acceleration speed seems to cap at 2x. Going to a higher time acceleration (2x+) only increases lag, but doesn't actually "speed up". It occurs in first person, F2, or F10. It also occurs without a player aircraft on the map. A few months ago on the same PC I was able to get up to at least 10× and maintain a smooth experience.
Pixar Posted July 20, 2022 Posted July 20, 2022 I had this problem as well a while back. Then I figured that it was due to a data export script I was using. Data I/O will take CPU resources. Whenever I tried to accelerate time, while testing a mission, it was not working properly anymore. When I disabled the data export script, time acceleration was working properly. This would only be the case If I added in a a specific script though right? Some of my missions do have some lua scripts( non data export) but that shouldn't affect other missions..... right?
Marmotflyer Posted July 26, 2022 Author Posted July 26, 2022 These show the performance difference between 1x and 2 x. You can see how the GPU performance is way down, and none of the cores are at max utilization. I have 32 gb of ram, but it hasn't reached anywhere near that limit.
Marmotflyer Posted July 28, 2022 Author Posted July 28, 2022 I figured it out! It was my winwing export file. Editing that out cleared it right up!
