Hi everyone,

alway has a lot of crash with DCS for some time I did not play it anymore but now started again because bought Tobii Eye Tracker 5. After a lot of troubles to make it work, since a day the Tobii works but now I got again the CTD of DCS, I start the sim then after few seconds of a mission or just training, it will stop working and crash.

Please find attached my Logs, it would be very thankfull if you could help as I cant play it. I have 4 modules, F/A18, F-16, Persian Gulf and Nevada, and I run the stable version.

Thanks

I see you installed DCS on a Hard Disk Drive. I'm not sure this is the problem, but you should check your HDD timings. It's better forthe sim to run on SSD (many file access during the flight).

Anyway, your crash does not look like a file access issue for now. It's the common DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED crash.

  2. Disable RAM XMP profile in BIOS.
  3. If you're using G-Sync, please read this post.

Hi. It seems a device keeps disconnecting while the DXGI error appears:

It might be useful to identify this device.

If you want to try DCS on your SSD, no need to uninstall anything: just copy the whole game folder to your SSD. Ensure you have enough free space.

I did move everything in the SSD but keeps crashing.

Now I open again a ticket. For me isn't possible to play and I cannot accept it because I want.

Wait, just try this please: disable hot plug detection in your DCS Controls options panel.

hotplug.jpg

No worries. I will give a try also for this.

The support suggested to reduce the OC of the GPU, which was very little. After that change and also switching from High graphic setting to Medium, the trail worked (I did a free flight over Persian Gulf with some touch and go) and did not CTD anymore and for the first time in a long time I exit DCS by myself 🙂

I have also to say that I have a resolution of 3840x2160 in my screen maybe too much for the RTX 2060 SUPER 🙂 so it may reduce also the resolution.

Thanks

Perhaps check if you have enough power supply on USB, restructuring your USB connections might help (or power HUB)?

Ok. I have 650W but I have many USB connected (keyboard, joystick, llights, webcam, ect..) What do you with a power Hub?

Before anything detach anything you do not need for DCS, and try to reproduce again. If it does not fail (e.g. no crash, no messages ) you might have pinpointed the root cause.

If this is the case, you may attempt at balancing the USB connections, or simply order the power USB hub.

In my case I ended up with power USB hub, but this does not mean its a solution for your problem.
