Is there any special requirement for contacting Ground Crew requesting refuel?

I am most likely doing something wrong, please help me.

I take off from one airport (hot start), I land at next nearby airport. I shut engine off and BATT off and request Ground Crew to refuel  ( / F8 and F1).

I get to the window, set my request and OK

My request has been shown as sent in left upper corner but there is no response from Ground Crew.

I have tried with BATT on and off, no difference.

Airfield coalition must match group coalition (blue, blue). White or red won't work. It's possible for the airfield to be out of fuel (not likely) but they should say "negative" back to you in that case.

Thing about "\" is that it can simply be your pilot voice speaking without any microphone. The canopy is thick and ground crew cannot hear you just speaking. You want to use the radio or intercom. There is a telephone that plugs into the side of the airplane so ground crew can communicate with the pilot but it takes battery bus no. 1 power. For intercom you need either the hot mic switch set or press either radio transmit button on the throttle (those radios don't have to be on, but it's the PTT for the intercom). Or you can simply open the canopy (engine might need to be off) so your voice can leave the cockpit.

No need to shut down engine.

Check if the airbase (select it on the F10 map) actually holds the resources you are asking for.

Thank you.

And if not, do I need to edit it in ME? So airports do not have fuel available by default?

How do I find out about that from F10 map? Sorry I need to study better. 🙂

I also recently landed at a neutral airport expecting fuel. But unfortunately neutral airports do not provide fuel when you are on the blue or red coalition side.

And if you are on neutral side?

I don't have a strong opinion wether neutral bases providing fuel should be a thing in dcs, but...

Neutral airports providing fuel should really be a thing.  I've seen military flights get fuel at civ airports.  Probably happens all the time.

... this is not a very good argument: For good or for worse, in dcs "neutral" does not mean civilian, but belonging to a faction that is not engaged in hostilities. In reality a faction that does not take a side in a conflict will be hesitant to provide support to a faction engaged in said conflict.
Within the limits of the current conflict simulation, mission designers should put "civilian" airports to either Blue, Red or Grey for their allegiance and not to denote civilian vs military.

For single player and ccoperative PVE this is therefore a nonissue, for multi / PVP i have no idea.

If you turn your engine off you can switch on battery only to the backup radio and talk to the ground crew or if not on any power open the canopy and yell out.
