Another quick noob question (HSI designate / SPI /CZ)

Hi,
first of all: Wouldn't it be good to have a general thread for random short questions and have it pinned to the top? @BIGNEWY maybe soemthing to consider doing for every module. Would help with thread bloat.

So here is my little question:
So it seems to me, that a common workflow is to designate SPI / target data from the HSI, by selecting a waypoint (or probably also markpoint) and use the designate function on the HSI. Now everythings slaves to the selected waypoint. Nice.

However after doing it once, the function disappears and to get it back i have to switch waypoints back and forth to get it back. Why is that? What am i doing wrong?
My workflow would be - for example - use the designate function to slave TGP to waypoint, then use the TGP to designate a target in the vicinity. Now i want to slave TGP back to waypoint, but the function is gone from the HSI.
Another example would be to set up a smart weapon in TOO (or similar mode) to target a waypoint. I then switch to a different station or a different smart weapon and want to assign the same waypoint in TOO, but the function is gone from the HSI (for example when setting up turn points or targeting points for Harpoon / Slam). Again i have to toggle waypoints to be able to designate again.

I reckon i must be missing a function (maybe Hotas command) or i have the workflow "messed up". I can get the weapons where i want, but i don't think that having to toggle waypoints back and forth is part of the proper workflow.

Probably related to that is, that i haven't understood how to CZ the TGP. Is this even a thing in the hornet?

thanks.

You don't have to toggle WPs back and forth. When you press WPDSG, the WYPT label (right top on the HSI) changes to a boxed TGT label. You can clear the existing designation and get WPDSG back by pressing the button next to TGT. The designation will be cleared and you'll get WYPT and WPDSG back.

Or you can use the NWS/Undesignate button on the stick to clear any existing A/G designation, instead of doing it via the HSI.
