Hez Posted July 22, 2022 Posted July 22, 2022 Landed, shut down my engine (placing throttle into cutoff with the small red lever) and repaired correctly after a nose wheel collapse during a landing. Continued: (Sorry I can't seem to edit the above). However, after successfully repairing I was unable to restart my engine. Following the same procedure as cold start, I switched everything off and tried to start it multiple times, but when pressing and holding the starter button the engine never responded.
Solution Flappie Posted July 22, 2022 Solution Posted July 22, 2022 Don't forget to set throttle to idle before restarting aircraft. 1 ---
Debonair Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Funny I'm having the same problem. At cold start bring RPM to 2900 then go cutoff. Set throttle to idle, 2nd time to ignite starter will fail to work (it will move a bit then 0, further times no movements). Configuration: All fuel/pumps levers are open, Batt/Alt1/Alt2/Inverter are set Up/Auto. Notices the TR reset button doesn't function.
Debonair Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 RTFM Seems I fixed my problem I was holding the starter too long, I held the starter until seeing the needle move in error. according to page 29 of the Flight Manual "The start-up of the engine occurs sequentially, with an electric motor starting a gas generator, which, in turn, starts the engine. The starter pushbutton shouldn't be pressed for more than 2 seconds to avoid damaging the electric starter and should never be pushed when the engine is turning, at the risk of destroying the starter system." 1 1
