Shadow

I would like to have an option in the graphics settings to turn off world shadows but leave cockpit shadows activated.

This has been wished for countless times for years now. It would massively help those of us who are struggling to get decent DCS performance (everyone? ) 

I also PM'ed Bignewy at some point and he promised to share the idea with the team. All we can do now really, is sit and wait for our prayers to be heard 

 

It is in fact very easy for ED to implement this, I guess it's just a matter of priorities, but I hope that at some point they allocate resources to actually make it happen..

 

Until that time you can do it yourself by editing the shadows.lua. Check this thread on how to do it:

 

Beware though:

• Altering the shadows.lua breaks IC (just backup the lua file in case you want to go online)
• You'll have to do this after every update
