AlphaOneSix Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 I do feel though that people shouldn't adopt insignias as sigs unless affiliated with the unit. I wish more people felt that way. ;)
Wags94 Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 My full respect to the few who make it. I do feel though that people shouldn't adopt insignias as sigs unless affiliated with the unit. The men really do earn the right to wear their badges. Well, I'm not in the Army, but I do live next to (and technically in) Fort Campbell Army Air Base. I'm here cause my father is military, assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. That's why I have the "Screamin' Eagle" as my forum avatar. I completely support what he does in the military, and respect what everybody does in the (and their) military/militaries. "Don't tell mom I'm a pilot, she thinks I play piano at a whore house."
CE_Mikemonster Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Good lad. I'm sure you understand what I mean - There's quite a few 'armchair warriors' online who've never been anywhere near a recruiting sergeant, who adopt various 'favourite' unit insignias etc lol. Mainly airsofters, hahahaha. 'Weekend Green Beret' Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T

I've gone paintballing with a couple Green Berets, learned quite a few tips from them, I play the game much better now :P I've also played against the Army Marksmanship Unit, I got my @$$ sniped any time I decided to peek out of cover. Anyway, I do understand what you mean. "Don't tell mom I'm a pilot, she thinks I play piano at a whore house."
crazysundog Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Hah, funny OT discussion guys...there are more 'armchair warrior' types online than real warriors in RL. If you ever need proof, just visit the americasarmy forums and start a thread/poll entitled "Who are the best SF units in the World?"
CE_Mikemonster Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Sundog you've set me off. I know it's off topic, but.. Oh god, I can't help myself: http://www.arrse.co.uk/wiki/Walt (Wiki of British armed forces' forums) Good for a laugh any day. Scroll down a little bit. 'Don't worry Sir, i'm from The Internet.' Too many cowboys. Not enough indians. GO APE SH*T
crazysundog Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 thats good... never heard the term 'walt' before now... in canada its simply called a 'poser', but walt is good as well...

God, that'll be worse than the "KA-50 vs. AH-64D" fights I found in the comments box on youtube Black Shark videos. Lol, I play lots of America's Army, I almost never go on the forums cause of the little arguements that break out. :D "Don't tell mom I'm a pilot, she thinks I play piano at a whore house."
