AlleyCat Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 (edited) I've got a Visa Electron card. Normally selecting the Visa option for payments works just fine. Unfortunately for your products it does not. I've tried to buy both Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs. Is there any chance that the "Electron" option will be added in the near future? As it stands I can't buy the games anywhere else! It's bloody frustrating to say the least... Happy new year :) [edit] Ok solved the problem by convincing my partner that my life (and hers, in the sense that I would be far less grumpy) would be enhanced if she allowed me to use her card to buy Flaming Cliffs... Now working up towards the $50 for Black Shark ;o) Edited January 3, 2009 by AlleyCat Eagles may soar, but Meerkats don't get sucked into jet engines.

Lionman Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) PURCHASING PROBLEMS I use a VISA Debit card with which i frequently make online purchase without problems.. I followed the purchase link, entered all my data and clicked purchase. The button switched to "Submitted" but following that nothing occured, I was not directed to any download link but nor did I receive an error message or any indication what had occured. Having given my cc detailsI am naturally anxious. So I have two questions. I checked the purchase button and it told me that i had made no purchases yet. 1. Where can I purchase the boxed English version with a printed manual? Or if it isn't out yet WHEN will it be available in the UK? 2. The Protx purchase system seems flawed and doesn't work properly for me, so can I purchase the English downlaod version through PayPal? :( I should add that I am 62, have been a sim pilot for 20 years plus and have all the controls including pedals and HOTAS Cougar. I tried to contact support but have so far received no reply. Acedy Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) 1. Where can I purchase the boxed English version with a printed manual? Or if it isn't out yet WHEN will it be available in the UK? The boxed version has not been released yet, it will probably be available in retail stores during march. The box will include a printed quick start manual, the flight and GUI manuals come as PDFs. You will be able though to purchase a printed and expanded version of the flight manual from the DCS website and, according to JimMack's statement here, ED hope that it will also be available from Amazon. 2. The Protx purchase system seems flawed and doesn't work properly for me, so can I purchase the English downlaod version through PayPal? No, there is no PayPal option. No, there is no PayPal option. Well, I fiunally managed to purchase and download Black Shark and have followed the installation instructions assiduously, downloading both files to the same directory and starting set up from there. However four attempts at installation have all stopped at about 52% with "error 2" implying that the second file (presumably the one called DataCab) is either not found or corrupted yet I have downloaded it twice with the same result. Not having much luck so far but determined to get this to work as the program looks excellent. Any advice apart from download both files yet again and try again? I am using VISTA Ultimate Edition - which is probably part of the problem as it is total rubbish IMO and has caused me constant problems ever since I bought the PC with it fitted. Indeed I am about to reformat and go back XP on one 55 GB HD and System 7 Beta on the other 500 GB HD. (Unfortunately I cannot do that until two external HD I have ordered for backup arrive. ) VISTA sucks for gamers in my experience and I am no newbie - this is my 8th PC, has a top spec and I have been a sim pilot for the whole 25 years there have been PC sims. VISTA Has probably cost MS more in lost customers and bad PR than it cost to develop. Edited February 2, 2009 by Lionman CPU Interl Quad Core, 4 GB RAM, GPU nVidia 8800GTX, SPU Xi-Fi Fatal1ty, INternal HDs 2 x 500 GB, External HDs 2 x 1TB, Display MATROX TripleHead2Go, 3 x 22", CH Rudder Pedals, SAITEK-ProYoke, GC Unit, quadrant x 2, SwitchPanel, Radio Panel, Autopilot Panel, LP8000, P2500.
