Moreno Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I managed to achieve this once but now, no matter what quality in Sony Vegas i choose using XVid-Codec, I can't get even to high quality on YouTube! So please share your codecs, sizes, quality settings. What do we need to put high quality or even HD Vids on YouTube? I thought 720p and high settings in Vegas would be enought for HD. Doesn't work anymore....
Shrubbo Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I use 720p and get HD.....eventually. What I have noticed is HD doesn't appear straight away. It sometimes take quite a while to show the HD option. I use mpeg2, 1280x720 (720p) 4000Kbps with mpeg audio at 256Kbps. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Boberro Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 IMO and as far I know HD on Youtube is not real HD, it is only higher quality but to true HD is a bit far way on youtube. Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D ಠ_ಠ ツ
Legolasindar Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 HD? no confuse, Youtube only have terrible quality, Youtube run in 640x480, this is resolution of old TV, my cellphone have more resolution. If you like use good quality get other options. Wuapi, Vimeo, openfilm, etc... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
ZaltysZ Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Youtubish HD = low quality wide screen format. ;) Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
Moreno Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 I'm experimenting with mp4 right now and at least high quality seems to work. Yes I know. Vimeo is great as well. I have an account there. But although I don't like it very much: YouTube is more popular.. ;) GOOGLE TAKES OVER THE EARTH!!!!!!
Shrubbo Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Actually youtubes "HD" is about 855x478. Not real HD but nice and clear. They call it HD so so do I . Check it out... Click the "watch in HD" at the bottom right of the picture. May not be ubber but certainly good enough as well as giving you the choice of standard or "HD" :) i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Moreno Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 I just don't get it. I'm uploading the same video with same settings that worked as high quality before and now it doesn't get hq again.... Youtube truly suckz.
Legolasindar Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 For correct visualization you need record video with game in final resolution. If you go upload video at youtube and youtube use 855x478, you need play and record in 855x478. After record, when you export your video to hardisk need export in same final resolution, in this case 855x478. For format try. I used WMV for upload to youtube [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
Cosmo81 Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Ive had this problem as well, what I did to finally make youtube accept the HD quality is used Windows Movie Maker and then saved my project to wmv. At first I was using megui, but for some reason the HD button was never enabled on the youtube site.
Shaman Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 It is sad that nothing replaced Stage6 true FULL HD quality. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Shrubbo Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Stage 6 was very nice. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.
crazysundog Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I use Fraps (which i had to pay for) to capture, VirtualDub (which is free @ virtualdub.org) to compress, and I use the free Xvid codec in Vdub to encode with. I used to use WindowsMovieMaker, and tried the trial version of Vegas, but didn't like the quality in either. If i could get the simplicity of WMM in vdub, i would be laughing... BTW, i capture in full definition, (1680x1050), so at times i could have up to 80 GB of vid which mostly gets deleted immediately. After compression, a 5 minute video is around 700-800 mb in size. I do NOT have to resize to get it on youtube, and anyone can play the HD version there. For an example of my latest video, check the thread on this forum 'Canadian Camo Vid' and tell me what you think of the quality. I haven't bothered messing with any effects or titles, that vid is pure Fraps and Vdub with Xvid codec. link: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=bQM4mBO3dz8 ....and watch in HD of course!
Shrubbo Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 You should try capturing "half size" with fraps. By the time it has been uploaded to youtube and then they modify it again you won't notice the difference except in it's "physical size" on you HDD and upload. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. crazysundog Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 i notice a big difference in quality on YT @ half size. also im not worried about HDD size.
Moreno Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 After a hard struggle I managed to bring my movie on Youtube with HD. ( http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=n6a9Vx_wbPo ) I uploaded it as Xvid, but I guess it could be mp4, wmv or mov as well. The only thing that really counts is: P A T I E N C E !!! It took Youtube five (f i v e) hours to show the movie as HD version. So take your time. Make the film private first and wait! When it's shown as HD make it public. Voila! Al the best, Moreno PS: Tomorrow Final Cut Express 4 is arriving. I bought it cos I was so frustrated with Youtube, thinking that Vegas was the problem. Well now my Mac will do the job... ;)
rogue_blade Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 why did stage6 have to die anyway? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Moreno Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 vimeo.com has full 720p HD capabilities. And is limited to 500 MB compared to 1 GB at Youtube..
Shrubbo Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 why did stage6 have to die anyway? Probably because it was loaded with pirate movies/tv/etc. i9-9900K,Z390 Aorus Master, 32GB GSkill Trident F4-3600 DDR4, ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti, Oculus Rift S. Thrustmaster Warthog T&S, TPR Pedals.
