naxpain Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hi all, when i land near the car in the courier mission, how do i get the secret package ? Cause when i land near the car, nothing happens. I hoped for some kind of Text telling me, that the package is transfered and that i am ready to take off again. I tried to shut down the engines, and switched off the electronics... even opened the door, but no message came. How does this mission work? Thanks :)
NullCharacter Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 You have to land very close to the car. Just try not to bump it! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
naxpain Posted January 5, 2009 Author Posted January 5, 2009 hehe oh my god... CLOSER ? wow ok, lets try, thanks :)
Cowflab Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I screwed this one up too! By some miracle i landed on that cruiser on my first attempt, only to find out afterwords that i landed too far away from that damn truck! Athlon 64 X2 5000+ @ 2.84ghz on ASUS M2 Crosshair M.B. takamba Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 You dont need to land near the car. Just hover 2m above for quite some time and you will get the secret package! DCS Rafale - please
fjacobsen Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I landed nearby and taxied on the road closer to the car. Wothan | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 2x2TB SATA SSD | 1x2TB HDD 7200 RPM | Win10 Home 64bit | Meta Quest 3 |
NullCharacter Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 According to the mission you must be within the UAZ's trigger zone which has a radius of 20m. Also, your altitude must be below 283. Once you enter this zone you will get a message indicating that you've found him and he's looking through his glove compartment. 12 seconds later, assuming you're still in the zone and below 283, you'll get a message indicating you've received the package and can continue. Doc. Caliban Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Mission bug? Hello all, I've flown this mission 4 times and I have never seen the car. I've crawled the entire road from the airbase, scoured the 'car zone' over and over, and checked the road well past the zone. Could I be having a graphical glitch? I'm running 1.0.1a Thanks for any feedback, -Doc [ Asus Rampage II Extreme | Intel i7 920 @ 3.6GHz| 12GB DDR3 | 3-Way SLI (3x GTX280OC 1GB) | 300GB Raptor | SupremeFX X-Fi 7.1 audio | 1,200W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU | 30" LCD @ 2560x1600 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar | TrackIR 5 | CoolerMaster HFC 332 case ]
Doc. Caliban Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 (edited) Found it, and yes, it looks like a graphics glitch with my system. I had to fly the road at <50m and the only reason I saw the Jeep is my anti-collision beacon shined on it's skinless model. As I came around again and got closer, part of the jeep showed up. The same thing happened at the end of the mission. I wonder how many times I've found it nearly impossible to find enemy in a mission because they are invisible! I'll see if there are any newer vid drivers available, but I usually keep it all up to date. UPDATE: I did a minor vid driver update but the problem is the same: The jeep on the road and the one at the airbase don't show up until I'm right on top of them... the skins don't render or whatever, so they are actually invisible. I'm very worried about this when it comes to enemy assets... are they going to be occasionally 'cloaked' like this? That would, in a word, SUCK. What to do? Edited September 13, 2009 by Doc. Kilo_60 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Question? How do you get a "Mission Complete" for this one? I got both mission trigger messages after landing near the UAZ and then on the Frigate and finally landed at my Home airbase but never got the "Mission Complete" message? Is there a final "Mission Complete" message or do you get credit for sucessfully completing the mission after landing on the Frigate? THANKS!
Doc. Caliban Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 You have to fly to the airbase you pass on your way from the Jeep to the ship, not back to your home base. Land on the north end where the little building and a few vehicles are at. Bandit666 Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Hi! I have a problem with this mission. I always find the car but on the way to the Ship i always have a "Emergencywaterlanding" while i have no fuel. Where can I refuel? greetings from germany
Griffin Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 You don't have to refuel. You only need to switch on the inner fuel pumps so your engines will get the fuel from the external fuel tanks.
Bek Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 Possibly a problem with SLI Caliban? You can try without it I guess see if that's the problem, or even ask if any other SLI gamers have that problem. I seem to be able to spot enemies easily with targets off, might be slight graphical error or perhaps everyone can see enemies 10km away? eh, good luck with getting that working. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Cionara Posted September 25, 2009 Posted September 25, 2009 You only need to switch on the inner fuel pumpsYea inner fuel pumps cause the fuel tanks are on the inner hardpoint and if you got them on the outer one day, turn on the outer fuel pumps ;-) Watercooled Core i7 920 @ 4,3 Ghz @1.36Vcore GTX280- 700/1188 6144 MB DDR3 7-7-7-18 1333Mhz
Bek Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 You can also just refuel ;) Finished this mission today, landing on the boat made me nervous! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Doc. Caliban Posted September 27, 2009 Posted September 27, 2009 I haven't reinstalled yet, but I think I may have to. (to fix the invisible textures) I haven't tried disabling SLI either, as if that fixes it, that's not a reasonable workaround IMO, know what I mean? So I'm stubbornly not going to try that. :-) [ Asus Rampage II Extreme | Intel i7 920 @ 3.6GHz| 12GB DDR3 | 3-Way SLI (3x GTX280OC 1GB) | 300GB Raptor | SupremeFX X-Fi 7.1 audio | 1,200W Thermaltake Toughpower PSU | 30" LCD @ 2560x1600 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar | TrackIR 5 | CoolerMaster HFC 332 case ]
BigVette Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 What's that annoying siren going off, seemingly annoying the crap outta me when it's already pea soup IFR and no needles? Low fuel? I've got inner fuel pumps on. It's not the master caution or rotor RPM warning, either. This is one where I'd pull the CB and shove my boot through it to get it to stop going off. Only thing I can think of would be the radar altimeter warning, which goes off each time you descend below the warning radio altitude (set to 100m by default, adjust it via a knob next to te r alt dial). So I'm stubbornly not going to try that. :-) I think there's a very good chance that it is the SLI. There have been several issues reported with SLI and this game (and many other games, for that matter). In fact, afaik this game doesn't have the ability to take advantage of SLI anyway (again, like many other current games). I've even heard of people getting better framerates when disabling SLI. Maybe this is something from my desktop, like maybe an alarm I recently set for my CPU and GPU temps? Hmmm, if it's not from the sim that's got to be it... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Gigabyte P55-USB3 Intel i7-870 with 8 GB DDR3-1333 nVidia GeForce 470 GTX 1280mb RAM SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
