Rongor Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 I am currently frustrated by "my George" not being able to pick up an enemy helo not even within guns range, not even when I make him slave while placing my LOS reticle precisely over that incoming aircraft. He still only lists ground units. The weird thing is that my wingman (we fly on a MP server) flying right next to me has "his George" noticing that very same enemy helo from afar and also has no issue "locking" and guiding Hellfires towards it. Is there anything I might do wrong? Is there some specific bug causing this or a workaround to deal with this?
Flying Duqi Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) I think my George is more like your wingman than you. He can see Helos even Jets from afar(Yeah sure I want to hit that super-sonic J-11A with my hellfire or 30mm grenade launcher). My problem is the George tends to miss-align the laser when enemy(or myself) is trying to make a manuver or just changing course. Ussually I'll have George shoot 2-6 missiles to kill a straight flying M-24P depending it's evading or not. When in close range(I mean really close like 200 meters or less) the cannon is starting to work but usually enemy helo can have some pretty effective shots on to you before that. And a real personCPG is not really doing any better in respect of Helo dog fights So in all at current develop stage, Apache is better off stay away from other helos unless you have no other choice. Rongor Posted October 6, 2022 Author Posted October 6, 2022 (edited) Now I had George (CPG) see an array of AD stuff in 20 km distance, yet the T-90 in open field which was ahead of us in 2 km was invisible to him. There are targets I can perfectly see as a human player which George just refuses to notice. This is a problem, because I cant attack obvious targets close to me and may be unaware of other close targets I didn't spot myself but should have been picked up by George. Especially with a hostile helo close by, it's a complete lottery. Of course I have tracks, yet as we all know you wouldn't like to review 40 minutes long trackfiles so there is no that much I can provide to assist in solving these issues. ED Team Raptor9 Posted October 6, 2022 ED Team Posted October 6, 2022 There is an option in the mission editor to enable George to track air targets. This option is specific to individual aircraft, meaning one aircraft placed in the mission could have the AI CPG enabled to track air targets and another could have this disabled. If this is unchecked for a given player/client aircraft, George will ignore airborne targets. This may be the cause of the inconsistent behavior regarding hostile aircraft being processed by George. 1 Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. Rongor Posted October 6, 2022 Author Posted October 6, 2022 (edited) I am playing this on a dedicated 24/7 MP server, so basically the host could have unintentionally set this option for some slots and not for others, I will check this. So the inability of George not seeing a T-90 out in the open in 2 km is a different issue.... Edited October 6, 2022 by Rongor
