CrazyD Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I've put together a map for new players who want to practice their flying skills online. There's an aircraft carrier and frigate patrolling the shoreline and nearby harbour and another frigate anchored in the harbour, to land on. There's also a couple FARPs set up near the airfield. Plus the usual fly to the nearby town and buzz the buildings, land on the beach, docks, roads, harrass the vehicles driving down the road, hide in the trees, etc. Its set up with no weapons, other than the main cannon, but hopefully no-one will make use of it. I can set up a teamspeak server, the IP address details will be noted on the description of the server (CRD2.0 Flight Practice Center). I've set the limit to 16 people, as I'm only running a DSL line, and my CPU is dual-core E6300/GPU 8800GTS, so I'm not sure what load it can handle. When to set this up? I'm thinking Friday, 8:00pm Pacific time, which would make it late for those on the east coast, or Saturday around 2:00pm, where more people could join in. Who's interested? CRD
Ramstein Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 sounds good,, just a bad date/time... try another time/date.. :music_whistling: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
Bobcat Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Flew in it the other night and landed on the carrier. Funnily enough the carrier steamed right over the top of a yacht without causing damage. The map a great idea.... BC
CrazyD Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 Yep, I watched that happen too - I guess the virtual world is as imperfect as the real one, lol.
