What do you do in multiplayer in DCS comprated to FC?

So I don't have DCS and am wondering what goes on in an MP flight.

In FC which I used to play, it was all about combating each other right? BVR and WVR combat.

But in DCS you cant really fight each other in helicopters...or it's not really meant to be that way anyway. So is everything in DCS MP co-op against ai units?

Or can it be like. Me vs your ai units while your flying against my ai units?

Theres plenty heli vs heli combat, because who the hell cares how it is "meant to be", its just fun. Usually its split 50/50, i.e. half the time you fight ground units, the other half - you kill enemy helis.

I do that what enemy let me do :). There is plenty A-A combat and it is very enjoyable... Last time I fought with another Ka-50 by Vikhrs. It was like in Rambo movie fight, we saw each other in TV and waited for enemy reaction after firing Vikhr. We maneuvered, hided ect :D

The nice thing about multiplayer is that it can be the experience you want it to be... assuming you can find other players that are looking for the same experience you do and that none come on the server to ruin it :P

I was just in a server where it is pretty much like that. There's an actual ground war going on and it's 8vs8. Artillery units were moving in and shelling our airfield, I took off to search for them and take them out. Likewise, our artillery units are trying to shell the enemy airfield. It's pretty impressive.
