saving key assignments

After the last Beta update I lost all of my key assignments. I had saved them as "custom 1) in the control UI, but were not able to retrieve them.  Is there a "file" somewhere I could copy and save outside of the sim, and replace a "default" if this occures again???

All control assignments are stored in "Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Config/Input/" folder. Loosing them is quite unusual, but once I had UUID of my throttle changed, so I "lost" my config in UI, though have bring them back by renaming file.

P.S. Backup is always good idea

Have a look inside folders, there are *.lua files for each your controller:

Content of "Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input" contains all your binding in the game for each module.

I can't understand what you trying to say. Your folders were modified May 23th and it says nothing useful (well, there are no new files since then).

Look at mine. keyboard folder was modified January 27th, but the file inside it was changed today (October 25th):

Next, I have created file in "keyboard" folder and it have changed date:

null

Back to your original question - " Is there a "file" somewhere I could copy and save outside of the sim, and replace a "default" if this occures again???" These are files you could copy and save outside the sim folder, and if something happens - restore them.

Also, you can save profile from the game per each controller, then you will be able to restore form the same menu:

I saved the profile using the far right button on the "controls" interface yesterday, but as you can see the dates of the files are back in May???

Because it is your current assignments. Saving profile does not supposed to change current config. When you save profile you choose location for a new file (default is DCS.openbeta/InputUserProfiles, not DCS.openbeta/Config/Input..) Try to change some key binding - date will change too.

GOT IY! The key was reaizing that there are multi "input back up files". one for keyboard, stick, throttle rudder and TIR!  All good now thatks all!
