AeriaGloria Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Perhaps it’s a gunsight fix for the infinity drawing. Not to make it range over 0.8 nm. Which is 1.5 km, pretty much max effective A2A range. Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
sylkhan Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 Target 8.8 mn, hud range 0.4 mn ? Give me another good explanation for this one
sylkhan Posted November 2, 2022 Author Posted November 2, 2022 @AeriaGloria seems you are right, when gunsight is select max hud range is 0.8 mn. If i remenber correctly,it was not like that before, and it's very confusing when you do a dogfight and select the gun before merge. It should be better if it was fix at 2 mn.
AeriaGloria Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 I would agree with you…… if I thought it was possible to hit anything beyond .5 nm think I’ve only hit significant distance on straight and level transport planes. If it’s a fix for the infinite gun drawing, I’m all for it until a fix is found. If realistic, it shows the designers were aware how bad their 2.5 degree down gun installation was. If it’s a bug and needs to be fixed, good job bringing it up Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
Napillo Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 It's the distance to where it would hit if it were in CCIP mode - essentially, how far bullets would travel before hitting something, of course it won't calculate that beyond 0.8.

Of course? Why of course? CCIP ranges quite a bit farther out. The round self destruct at 6 seconds, if we consider muzzle velocity as an average that gives us 2.3 nautical miles Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
