Jayhawk1971 Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Hi Chris, ran into a problem in mission 3. The mission won't progress, as clicking/ keypressing the option in the F10 menu unfortunately does nothing. I'll put the context in spoiler tags, just in case: Spoiler When Captain "Whatshisname" asks me to check out the mortars, I had already spotted them, so I wanted to click on "tally mortars" in the F10 menu. Instead I got the talk-on option (99% sure I clicked on F1, not F2, but who knows when fumbling around in VR ). After spacebar-pressing through the talk-on, I again wanted to choose "F1 - Tally Mortars". Nothing. The option will not go away, and I get no response. I'm still on the correct frequency (31.8 IIRC?), I could communicate with him without problems up to this point. I took the mortar position and every other attacker I saw lingering among the trees out anyway, but the mission still wouldn't progress. The "other" option in the F10 menu remained, and choosing it numerous times led to nothing unfortunately. I believe I must have found everything else: suspicious truck at the north fence, group of armed guys that turned out to be base security, and the Land Rover which I had them take out. Could you check if 2.8 maybe messed with one of the triggers? The first two missions went without a hitch, and up to that point mission 3 worked fine as well. Thanks!

Hi mate, Just ran a quick test of that part of the mission, all worked ok for me, selected F10 option and things proceeded as they should. Only variables in that trigger are selecting the F10 menu option and the radio being set correctly, so logic would suggest it was the radio setting causing the issue - worth double checking you didn't inadvertently switch something by mistake. Hope that helps! 1
Jayhawk1971 Posted November 7, 2022 Author Posted November 7, 2022 I actually did check if I was still on the same freq a couple of times (I was). I also tried via all three radios numerous times, just to make sure. I did remain in orbit pretty much over the base when looking for that position, though. Could it be that I wasn't in the correct "zone" for the trigger? I'll try the mission again tonight, see if it works. Maybe I just ran into a glitch. And, since I have VAICOM installed (albeit it wasn't running when I played the mission), I wouldn't rule out possible interference from that program. Otherwise, great campaign so far! If all else fails, I'll just skip and push on. I've watched Lankypilot's video (to see if I did anything wrong), so I know how the mission ends now, anyway. In his case, not so well due to a slight booboo he's made.

mlewis Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 I've had a similar issue just now. No response to the F10 menu option that I'm visual on the mortars. Double checked I was still on the correct frequency & no issue there. I might have taken a bit too long to find the mortars is the only thing I can see I might have done wrong.
Jayhawk1971 Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) Oh crap, I realize I never got around to trying this mission again (contrary to what I announced so boastfully ). I guess I was way too curious to see where the campaign was going, and after the next couple of missions, I promptly forgot about it. Edited March 20, 2023 by Jayhawk1971
ChillNG Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 I'll take another look at it, I couldn't replicate and I couldn't see anything that would cause an issue...time shouldn't be a factor. But a fresh look might help.
