Hey,

I'm currently having trouble in using the various weapons of the KA-50 in the game. I have viewed the tutorials many times and followed them exactly, however I never seem to be able to shoot a missile, only using the gun by pressing "C"

I have all of the combat systems enabled, set to outside view and ground target, and have been able to lock on to a target in the right range, I hold the fire button down for a few seconds (as it says) however I cannot seem to shoot a missile.

Is there any other steps I should look out for or another tutorial on how to shoot down targets?

thanks

The default button/keys to fire the hard point weapons is different from the trigger for the cannons (typically button 1 on the stick). By default, I think the hard point weapons are fired by left alt + space. You can bind this to another button on your stick in the key set-up. Hope that helps!

Edit

My bad, it is right alt + space. Also, the Vikhr will only fire when the missle reticle is over the shkval reticle on the HUD. When it is you should get the letter C pop up in the HUD and the shkval, indicating that the weapon will fire. If you are in hover mode it may help to have auto-turn to target switched on the K-041 panel so that the helo will yaw towards the target for you.

The following steps will only work if you have carried out the proper start up procedure

1. Laser range finder on

2. Vikhr selected (Y)

3. Lock on to target.

4. In range (generally 7km or closer)

5. Place the missile target circle over the smaller target lock circle in the HUD

6. Confirm you are getting the letter C in the HUD and Shkval screen

7. Fire

Hey,

I've tried all those steps and I've got the "C" symbol on the HUD, and the targeting circle is over the missile target. Once its all locked on etc. I press Space + R ALT but still nothing happens, even when I hold it down for 5 seconds. The only way I'm able to shoot is by pressing C and going to the cannon fire.

Any other help would be appreciated

First try swapping the way you press the fire button, eg R Alt + Space instead of the other way around, second make sure nothing else is conflicting with the fire button, just check nothing else is mapped there. Lastly map it to something else, prefably a single button press.

A buddy of mine had the same problem...solution : press your "Release Weapon" combination (RAlt + Space?) 3 (!) times in rapid succession.

But take my advice: map it to your stick.^^

Finally got it working :D

Just re-assigned the button from the fire button to "Button A", there must be something wrong with the firing button when it comes to missiles.

thanks for the help

Did you have Master Arm set to on? [LAlt]-[W]

EDIT: OK, that it wasn't. :D

Yeah might do that,

how do I save a track file?

thanks

Well it looks like you're up and running now, but for future reference...

Every time you play a mission, a replay file of the mission is automatically recorded as a .TRK (track) file. When viewing your mission debriefing, you can choose to save the Replay under a different name than the default. However, if you do not and play the same mission again, the original Replay will be overwritten. To select a Replay file, select Replay from the Main Menu page. Note that you cannot view Replays from the Open mission page or the Mission Editor.

There is more info in the GUI manual in the "Replay" section.

I had the same problem when I assigned fire gun and release weapon both to the fire button (button 1 for gun and 15 for release weapon) on the x52 :joystick:
