HR-Crumble Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Is there a mission editor weather guide updated on 2.8? I can’t seem to see much difference between weather in 2.8 v 2.7. Even with brand new miz files I can’t see how the rain is only in random sections for example or the clouds move in different layers? have tried a fresh install etc. Also for the majority of presets the cloud layers don’t necessarily match the description and changing the cloud base doesn’t always change the cloud base. It must be a user issue in the ME I’m sure - have we got a guide?
draconus Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 It's really still WIP. Old missions (before 2.5) use old weather settings that need updating. Old and new settings are currently mixed. Easiest is to use the new presets but you have to tinker around the settings for anything more advanced. Dynamic weather tab does not work currently afaik. To see the difference use some preset like Overcast and rain 3, make sure the winds are set and run the empty mission. Use Lctrl+Z to increase time scale and be amazed. There are additional settings for Ice Halos at high alt. To see the rainbows just fly into the rain having the sun behind you. To see Brocken spectre just look down at the clouds with the sun exactly behind you. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
