AvgWhiteGuy Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Lost COMMS & COMMS Menu - All Aircraft Updated to latest version last week, all seemed good. Yesterday lost all COMMS menu but had made NO changes. Keyboard ' \ ' (Open COMS Menu) does nothing Warthog HOTAS MiC switches, I hear Clicks and I see there is a proper response on VoiceAttack/Viacom but it does nothing. VoiceAttack/Viacom recognizes commands...but something about 'nobody available' OrbWeaver Keyboard mapping does nothing. Batumi BLUE, No Ground Crew, No ATC MY A/C affected include ALL A-10-c models, F/A-18, F-16, P-51 I'm patient and I would be happy to role back to previous stable DCS Beta 2.7xxxxx if someone could direct me to the proper DCS_Updater CMD. I know you folks will solve it soon but need DCS during COVID lockdown in Shanghai. Anybody got an idea...please Asus B85 Pro Gamer - 32GB - Intel® Core i5-4460 CPU - SanDisk SDSSDXPS480G -Windows 10 Pro 64-bit - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 TrackIR5 - TM Warthog HOTAS Stick & Throttle - TM Cougar MFCDs - TM TPR Rudder Pedals - Razer Orbweaver - SoundBlasterX G5 DAC

Anybody got an idea...please Ok, so first the bad news: I don't think there is any access to previous OpenBeta versions, so if you'd rather not deal with OB 2.8 the other option is DCS Stable (ie non-beta) 2.7. I'm no expert, but lockdown without DCS sounds awful, so I'll try to help until someone turns up who knows what they're doing... First question: Is Vaicom hooking the module? To check, open VoiceAttack and then open the Vaicom Pro config window (ctrl + alt + c by default). Get into a mission in DCS, look at the Vaicom Pro window and see if the module you're in is stated there - example below (ignore the red circle): Edited November 15, 2022 by Horns Edited instructions for checking if module is hooked Modules: [A-10C] [AJS 37] [AV8B N/A] [F-5E] [F-14] [F/A-18C] [FC3] [Ka-50] [M-2000C] [Mig-21 bis] [NTTR] [PG] [SC] Intel i7-12700F, Nvidia GTX 3080, MSI MPG Z690 Carbon WiFi, 32GB DDR4 @ 1600 MHz, SteelSeries Apex Pro, Razer Basilisk 3 VKB Gunfighter 3 w/ F-14 grip, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle, Thrustmaster MFD Cougars x2, MFG Crosswind, DSD Flight Series button controller, XK-24, Oculus Rift (HM-A)
Gruman Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 (edited) Did you install the new community fixed version or are you still on VAICOM Pro (last payware version)? Your problem sounds like the later one. Check the top post in this forum section and get the latest version. Check VAICOM Discord for some additional problem solving while Updating. Downgrading to a previous version is possible. Easiest version is just use Skazillas Updater GUI, you just need the last version number and you good to go. AvgWhiteGuy Posted November 15, 2022 Author Posted November 15, 2022 (edited) Thanks guys, I got to figure out the path to least insanity... IF "new community fixed version" fixes problem, even if it just resolves the '\' and or HOTAS Mic issues so I have COMMS menu that seems reasonable; at least I can get clearance to crank the engines. IF rolling back to v2.7.16.27869 is faster, easier and I can find an updated Skazillas Updater GUI (mine was ancient), that would give me pleasure as well. @Horns, see images regarding 'hooking' Edited November 15, 2022 by AvgWhiteGuy Asus B85 Pro Gamer - 32GB - Intel® Core i5-4460 CPU - SanDisk SDSSDXPS480G -Windows 10 Pro 64-bit - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 TrackIR5 - TM Warthog HOTAS Stick & Throttle - TM Cougar MFCDs - TM TPR Rudder Pedals - Razer Orbweaver - SoundBlasterX G5 DAC
Gruman Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 Update VIACOM -> Link And your setup should be futureproof again. 1 Intel I9 10900k @5.1GHz | MSI MEG Z490 Unify | Corsair Vengeance 64GB - 3600MHz | EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 VPC T-50 Base /w Viper & Hornet Grip | VPC Rotor TCS Pro w/ Hawk-60 Grip | TM TPR LG C2 42" | Reverb G2 | TIR 5 | PointCtrl | OpenKneeboard
MAXsenna Posted November 15, 2022 Posted November 15, 2022 @AvgWhiteGuy Follow the link to the Discord @Gruman provided above. Download the zip, no need for the MSI and the elaborate instructions. In the VAICOM control panel, set sliders correct OpenBeta/Stable/Steam, and make sure the path is correct. Close VoiceAttack. Find the VAICOM folder under Apps under VoiceAttack in File Explorer, replace the vaicompro.dll and chatter.dll and AIRIO.dll in the extension folder. Do a full repair of DCS, (with or without Skatezilla's app). Do not start DCS, but start VoiceAttack first, then start DCS. This would make your DCS future proof even when stable advances to 2.8, so no need to downgrade DCS to 2.7, even if Skatezilla's app makes it very easy. Cheers!
AvgWhiteGuy Posted November 15, 2022 Author Posted November 15, 2022 Damn MAXsenna, that was really complex, tough exercise...about 3 minutes after d/l...brilliant. No rolling back. All my A/C are back flying again, thank you very much. 1 Asus B85 Pro Gamer - 32GB - Intel® Core i5-4460 CPU - SanDisk SDSSDXPS480G -Windows 10 Pro 64-bit - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 TrackIR5 - TM Warthog HOTAS Stick & Throttle - TM Cougar MFCDs - TM TPR Rudder Pedals - Razer Orbweaver - SoundBlasterX G5 DAC
