Terrain Creation tools

Could you please let us make our own terrain?   

I have done this on a number of sims many years ago, and it was awesome.  You could make it clear that ED has no responsibility for any bugs etc. associated with it.  If anyone made a terrain that was up to your standard, you could of course add it to your offered modules.  I'm from the south Pacific, it's great flying the other maps, but one of the key attractions of MSFS is the ability to fly over terrain you recognize personally.

They don't make that. Terrain is part of ED's income.
If they make that, Open source maps will circulate and diminish the interest of official maps

Agreed- however- how many more people would play DCS and buy the aircraft modules, knowing they could fly around where they live?

MSFS use Azure Worldwide servers with all world terrain with require download them online to high resolution textures and meshs. ED use builded map technology and actually, 3rd parties has only access to TDK (Terrain Develop Kit) to build own maps, and that has no open to the moding comunity to build free Mod maps.

Meanwhile, ED has working on a "whole world" technoligy, as civilian flight simulators and release them on a future.

Agreed, the terrain modding is badly needed in DCS.

As I talk previously, terrain tools has available only to 3rd party, and terrain moding has none availbable to moders by no get access to TDK, similar to Mod comunity has no availble to access to the SDK.

Don't know if you misunderstood or not, I wasn't answering to you, but to OP.

I know that the modding tools are not available, so I agree with OP that terrain modding is desperately needed in DCS.
