daykinmade Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Hello all, first post! of what will be many I'm sure. to start, I used to play Falcon4.0 a lot back in the day and this is the first Sim of that caliber to come around since. Amazing Game, Props to all involved. ok here is the issue. I love moving my head around with the mouse and using the scroll wheel to zoom in and out, what I don't love is having to press [L-alt C] to do this. is there a way to map [L-alt C] to the right click on your mouse, so you could go back and forth between cockpit mouse view modes? I've tryed it and it doesnt seem to work. I mapped [L-alt C] to mouse button 3 (I think) but frankly I don't even know what mouse button number corisponds to what mouse botton it actually is, so I may be doing this wrong. any ideas let me know Thank you in advance Comrads
Nate--IRL-- Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) There is a bug (which actually may become a feature in the next patch) that lets you do both at the same time. It is replicable, but alas i forget how. Somebody else may be able to help out. Nate Edit: See Frederf & Sunjah's posts below. Frederf Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 You should be able to bind the Mouse Look/Click toggle to any key you want. Right click is handy except right click is hard-bound to button manipulation so you might accidentally click stuff in the cockpit when switching modes and you won't have the ability to right-click manipulate controls without also switching modes. I have mouse view and clickable cockpit on at the same time. A simple Escx2 should allow mouse view while clickable cockpit is on. This stays until you use an outside view or something.
aledmb Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 you have to take into account that the right mouse button is used for activating some switches. but if you really need to do it, one way would be to use some program like joytokey or ppjoy to simulate the LALT+C combination with the right mouse button click. hope that helps.
daykinmade Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 ok, well how about the scroll wheel click? what mouse button is that called? would that work? where do I get this software? ppjoy etc.. and does it work in BS? just like to add that its 13 degrees outside and Im going to be flyin all winter
aledmb Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 i would suggest using joytokey, as it's more simple than ppjoy for this task: http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm
Sunjah Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 To "catch" that bug that was mentioned, all you need do is press "ESCAPE" while in F1 (cockpit) view mode, then press cancel (or escape again) and the mouse becomes your view and you can still click things. Again, just escape and cancel (or escape again) while in the F1 main view. I PRAY this becomes a feature!!! Remember, on Nov. 4th, vote for Black Shark for President!!!
