I'm relatively new to LOMAC, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I have two questions, however.

1) Is the SU-27 a true fly-by-wire aircraft? I heard it had some sort of "mechanical" fly by wire system. The reason I ask is that I find it much more difficult to hold a consistent altitude in the SU-27 than a US aircraft like the F-15 or F-16(In Falcon). I checked my joystick's centering, but the 27 seems tough to hold at a specific altitude.

2) Can neither the SU-27 nor the SU-33 carry the R-77? That seems like a big weakness...

Further to previous answers:

1) Yes, the Su27 is a true FBW aircraft - however, the FBW system isn't quite as complex as it is on the American jets. The F15 does some limited auto-trimming, and the F16 is an entirely different ballgame . . . . the computers control absolutely everything. Very easy to fly.

You need to trim to keep them level, though . . . . just the way it is.

2) The later variants of the Su27 can carry the R77 - however, ED chose to model the Flanker and the Eagle at the same point in time, for which they had enough data on how everything worked. It's also a pretty fair match if you know what you're doing.

The Su33 has exactly the same capabilities as the Su27 - Sukhoi put out an upgrade brochure for it a couple of years ago (including R77 capability), but never actually got the funding to upgrade them all.

Word is that the Su33's will now be replaced by the Su27KUB - the side-by-side naval two-seater, with rather more advanced avionics (and probably R77 capability as well). Cool jet.

Shouldn't add it because teh 33 NEVER got the capability to carry those in RL.

F-16s have to be trimmed too in real life.

cheers
