Hi!

I need help to understand the functionality of the Simapp Pro profiles. When running a downloaded profile in Simapp, will it override or merge the already existing configuration of settings made in in DCS? What to do if I want to edit some key bindings of an existing downloaded Simapp profile for my throttle? The "edit" button in Simapp shows "Coming soon". I'd prefer to do all settings in Simapp and not in DCS to avoid configuration chaos.

Short answers: Yes it will, and No you can't.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there are workarounds to these problems you've mentioned, so make sure you save your settings files before experimenting with SimAppPro profiles! To my knowledge it will overwrite your current DCS profile (but it has been a while since I've tried it). And the ability to edit control profiles in SimAppPro is, as you saw, still in the works and not available yet.

The lack of an ability to edit SimAppPro profiles is one of several reasons I choose not to use it. The main reason relates to system performance though. The way it writes to DCS is unnecessarily resource intensive. I really love my WW peripherals, less so the software. IMO you are better off doing all of that stuff directly in DCS.

You could try firing up a SimAppPro profile and letting it overwrite your .luas in DCS and then shutting down the app and making changes to those profiles w/in DCS. I'm not sure whether that would work, but might be a possible solution. Again, I choose not to use it so I'm theorizing here.

I find it better to bind everything in DCS. It does take a bit of time but once done, you can then back up your controller profiles if you need to restore them at a later date.

I just bought the MIP instrument panel. I found the software not user friendly and I am still having problems in setting everything up. Are you saying it is not necessary to use the SimApp Pro software? I could just do once the buttons binding (guess I can do that in half an hous!)? That leaves the issues about the usb screens, that have to be "paired" with those of the game. Haw can I do that without using the software? After two days that it worked ok, now the screens are not correct anymore and trying to solve with the software is a nightmare. If you could tell me how to proceede, I would be more than happy not to use their software

@Narsim1317I don't have MIP panels (can't afford), but my understanding is that you DO need to run the software in order for the panels to work properly. Even if this is not the case for the panels, the USB screens certainly do require the software. Sorry.

I've seen other threads where people report similar issues and have come up with work-arounds. None of them seem ideal to me though, so I suppose I'm glad it's all out of my price range. Less temptation and less frustration.

Again, sorry you're having a bad experience.

Hi, actually, the only thing you need to run SAP for is if have the UFC and want the displays to mirror DCS. You can run the MFDs and screens without SAP running no problem.
