High pitch as in manually lofting the missile?

Yeah this is a known issue which will be fixed soon™ and is the reason why launching the AIM-54 when not straight and level is currently not advised in DCS.

How much pitch are you using?  I often do a 20-30 degree loft and have never had a missile go backwards or even straight up on me (including in the latest OB).  Based on the TacView, it looks like you might be using something like 45 degrees.  That's not really advisable, and argue I'd also, not needed.

Has this issue come back for anyone?

I've been seeing this happen a LOT lately, however not with elevated launches, just level-flight at ~20k on targets 50nm away. They just go straight up and backwards.
