Mission 6 bug : Wave doesn't land where he should

I think Wave was headed back to the carrier after we finished the main part of the mission, instead of diverting to Khasab, causing a mission fail. 😞
Tacview attached. Track is too big for here, but I'll keep it if you really need it.

Thx,
Buzz

Thanks I will look into it. There is definitely some issues with the AI following scripts since certain updates. Tacview is great to be honest tracks don’t work that well.

I will let you know what I find and when it’s fixed.

Same problem in Mission 8

Cheers,

Headroom

Could you be a little more precise please. What actually happens and when in the mission. If you have a Tacview file of the mission that would be really useful.

Thanks

FYI, I just flew it (with today's open beta patch, maybe that helped ?) and no issue was encountered. Wave did correctly divert to the field, this time. Fun mission ! 👍

Small nitpicking : during recovery, there is a lot of crosswind on deck, about 7kts. That is usually avoided whenever possible:

"NAVAIR 00-80T-104 :

8.4     EXCESSIVE WIND-OVER-DECK OPERATIONS

Winds starboard of the angle also adversely affect recovery conditions. The burble, aft of the ramp, becomes stronger and moves closer to the ship as the magnitude of recovery crosswind is increased. The airflow disturbance requires corrective pilot technique if the recovery crosswind  exceeds 7 knots  for all carriers. Even with corrective pilot technique, sinking speeds 3 to 6  feet  per  second  in  excess  of those experienced during normal (no recovery crosswind) operations can be expected. For these reasons, recovery headwind should be maintained as closely as possible to the optimum velocity and the centerline of the landing area. Shipboard  aircraft  recovery  operations with recovery crosswinds in excess of those specified should be avoided. Refer to Aircraft Recovery Bulletin No. 10-10."

I have the same issue, wave heads back to carrier instead of Khasab. Tried many times and it’s very frustrating as I get shot down by the F-4e as well. But when successful wave doesn’t divert.

Hi, yes both missions 6 and 8 have been broken since certain  DCS updates which have impacted the AI behaviour in older missions. Have fixed both missions in another way and they will be corrected in the next update. Unfortunately this is the campaign creators lot, from time to time as updates are issued things get broken. I try to fix them as soon as I am aware of them.

Hope this helps.

Understandable. I’m really enjoying the campaign but will pause for now until the fix is in. Thanks for looking into this so quickly. Cheers.

Good to see I'm not the only one 🙂

Thanks for looking into it, badger.

Also: In the first night time Case III recovery, crosswind might have been strong enough for ACLS to not catch a wire. Had to do 3 manual approaches afterwards. At least it was good training.

I have revised the winds in the campaign to give less of a crosswind component, also in next update. 👍

Thank you for already having a fix for mission 6 with Wave. Kept thinking I was doing something wrong when he would head to the Carrier rather than to Khasab. I am enjoying it and will wait until the update to continue.
