Steel Jaw Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 So it may very well be a good time to upgrade the CPU since there are some major deals on 1200 socket hardware right now, thanks. edmuss Posted December 22, 2022 Posted December 22, 2022 I think the jump up to 12th gen is possibly a better choice as I believe there was quite a bump in performance over 11th. Someone with more knowledge may be along to correct me though Ryzen7 7800X3D / RTX3080ti / 64GB DDR5 4800 / Varjo Aero / Leap Motion / Kinect Headtracking TM 28" Warthog Deltasim Hotas / DIY Pendular Rudders / DIY Cyclic Maglock Trimmer / DIY Abris / TM TX 599 evo wheel / TM T3PA pro / DIY 7+1+Sequential Shifter / DIY Handbrake / Cobra Clubman Seat Shoehorned into a 43" x 43" cupboard.

I currently run a stable 19% OC so runs at 4.3GHz...haven't tried to push it beyond that, but I have AIO liquid cooling so heat not an issue. Oh yeah with a good AIO on that CPU you should easily be able to get the clock speed a good bit higher.
