There is a constant shimmering in the game now.

I posted on Facebook and apperantly this effect many(with several types of headsets)

The shimmering is in the menu/options too. Letters are shimmering making them annoying to read.

There's been constant shimmering in VR for years! It's certainly not new.

New for me and and many others.

Before the latest patch.  I didn’t have "dancing " letters in the menus. I do now.

Ah, in the menus? No, not normal agreed, generally in VR it's always shimmered in game, however.

Yes there's some blurriness/shimmer. But this is extreme. Letters in menus. In game the shimmer is so bad you feel you are playing at very low resolution.

Bizarre, I've not noticed an increase since the patch personally. Will jump on later and see if I can see the text shimmer issue. I'm using a Varjo Aero.

I originally thought it was because of the new update to Windows mixed reality for stream, which got an update yesterday. But on Facebook,  people with Quest 2s also say they got this extreme shimmer

So I tried earlier, and didn't notice any additional shimmer in the menus, and the in game shimmer seems to be about the same (read not nice).

Until v2.7 I used 2xMSAA with SteamVR res. at 100% on my Reverb G2 with barely acceptable (for SP) performance. After 2.7, for me at least the performance was just slightly lower but the MSAA at 100% masking in DCS setup, just doesn't look the same. It's blurry.  Any other combination of AA, whether in Nvidia CP or otherwise produced shimmer. Well, I haven't tried Sparse grid SS but I doubt it would make a difference. So, I said the heck with them all and disabled them, then I doubled the res. multiplier in SteamVR to 4472 x 4364 per eye and it didn't turn out too bad. The performance is roughly the same:  FPS between 60 and 18,:megalol:    but it's all quite smooth. (No reprojection).  For SP, I can live with it.  Yes, there's shimmer   but it's only annoying when looking at rooftops when the sun hits them at certain angles and taxiing around the airfields. In my opinion, it's a good trade off for a very sharp contrast at any altitude or distance.

Unfortunately, I'm still on RTX3070... waiting for the scalpers to go to hell :disgust:
