huey_gunner Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 I programm or bind my joy stick controller for each type of aircraft separately e.g. ov10.diff.lua, f18c.diff.lua etc. and all these flight controller profiles are stored in my InputUsersProfile folder and I do save a back up for all these files in another place. And let say when I flew the ov10 today I would load the ov10.diff.lua prior to take her to the air or ground. Somehow some of the keys I bound for certain functions are no longer there and yet the file seems to look intact in Windows environment which forced me to re-bind these keys again. This happens to me a lot when I added a new module or aircraft to the sim. I am very careful on how I load the correct .diff.lua profile for the correct aircraft in which I'm going to fly. What is wrong with what I'm doing here? Please help.
Brun Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 What do you mean by loading profiles? Nothing like that should be necessary, each aircraft's controls are independent and loaded automatically. Other than that, say when I fly missions. The only controls that work on j/s is just the basic pitch/roll and some basic camera views and that's just about it. When I went into the control tab I exclusively selected the xxx.diff.lua that I used for training but it did not do anything. I am at a loss!!! My other modules seems to work fine. I
rob10 Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 You shouldn't need to select anything. If you tried to move a .diff.lau from GAME mode to SIM mode that won't work as there are different bindings. Almost for sure you're binding things in F-18 GAME (look at top left of bindings page) and flying the mission in SIM mode (or vice versa). Check in the options whether you have GAME mode checked or not. There are 2 options that control full SIM mode IIRC.

Like I said in the training missions the controls work like it should but not the mission mode (only the basic controls that work). That's why I am confused. Maybe I have to rebind the control all over again.
Baldrick33 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 As @rob10 says it sounds like you are in two different modes running training and mission. I would try a training mission, go into controls and check if in sim or game mode (shows top left) and do the same for a mission to confirm if the are different- F/A-18 game vs F/A-18 sim or similar AMD 5800X3D · MSI 4080 · Asus ROG Strix B550 Gaming · HP Reverb Pro · 1Tb M.2 NVMe, 32Gb Corsair Vengence 3600MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · VIRPIL T-50CM3 Base, Alpha Prime R. I tested this to make sure, so I'm pretty confident this is your problem: go into OPTIONS, GAMEPLAY and UNCHECK the 2nd option under difficulties (GAME AVIONICS MODE). If it is checked it will use GAME bindings in missions BUT will work fine with SIM bindings in training. That's why what you've bound under SIM works for training but not for actual missions. Bit of a weird inconsistency in DCS, but it is what it is.
