Vetic Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Can any LOMAC scenery or aircraft be used by DCS. I realize LOMAC would not support Black Shark, but it uses the same map with different areas detailed. Combine we would have the entire weastern half of the Black Sea to play with. Basically, what I am saying is I know files will not go from DCS to LOMAC, but to my ignorant brain it seams like most LOMAC files would be right at home with DCS. I however know next to nothing about it and I dont want to mess up my installe of DCS. :cry:

BS is still youung, people begun watching entrails of game, and maybe when there will be so talented editors, modders we will get some cool things. As I recall, in order to have the increased map size and detail in Caucasus / Georgia they had to lose the Crimea - I guess there are issues with the amount of space the map uses. crazyeddie Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) Yes, they can. I have tried it with the Tornado and some of the helo's. Problems The blade effect on the helos when airborne, it's completely messed up and spoils the whole effect. I did not manage to find the correct effect texture files for rotating blades from DCS to put into LFC but intend to have another look soon to see if it can be sorted. Loadouts are set up for the original LFC files with the original weapons, many are not alligned properly and look quite poor compared to the new DCS files. To improve that will need a lot of work in the MeIni File, I had a quick play with that but I am not sure I want to go there again, it's a bugger's muddle in there now after 5 years of LFC and I think I might end up blowing all my fuses !!! Overall I think I am going to concentrate on understanding how DCS works and improving the scenery in that where I can. That is challenge enough for now !!! Later the same day: Sorry, just realised you asked the question the other way around, again the answer is probably yes but most things in DCS are better quality so why would you want to bother ?.
