Hi all,

Wondered how I actually end a mission I've completed? E.g. I ran the 'Trouble at the dam' user mission, killed the target bus (and the civ one too :P), flew back to base and landed, turned off engines, and... :music_whistling: nothing..?

Is there a key/action I have to do to end the mission correctly?

cheers,

Aph

Hi Aphex,

Yeah, it is a bit different to most games ..once you have landed, you can just press "esc" and quit. This will take you to the debrief screen.

Some user player missions may not have any Mission Conditions setup , so there may not be an official "ending" to the mission.

You can press the ; key in game to check the "mission progress" ..if there has been mission conditions setup, then a mission can be deemed "succesful" at any stage the mission progress is above 50%.

Some missions may be setup so that you have to achieve the objectives AND land, and some may even be setup to say "mission succesful" , but most will not.

Hope this helps, I know it is a lot more confusing than most games in this regard.

Ah, cheers people :)

I tried escape, but the 'quit' option sounded awfully final in a 'giving up' kinda way.

The mission progress was on 0% even at the end, so maybe I missed something.

I seem to remember Enemy Engaged had a bug where it sometimes didn't recognise you'd completed a mission...

Yeah the QUIT message should change to END MISSION once the mission is a success. Right now you don't know if QUIT means "give up failure" or "accept success."

I started the deployment campaign - flew the Fam flight mission, ended it, and tried to start the next, but i got the Fam flight again. what do i do wrong?

maybe you didn't do everything right, like landing or waypoints. i did that mission also about 3 times and i think i got the "mission success" only once.

Yeah that mission is a bit dodgy - even if you follow all the instructions and stay on the route your instructor will sometimes just stop talking - maybe one of the triggers is a bit small or something?

At the beginning of mission Mi-24 pilot says what distance you must keep from him during flight. Maybe you fly too far from him.

I imagine that's it actually ZaltysZ - the first few times I tried I was a bit of a n00b and kept going too fast or slow. Still, it's a bit weird that he just stops talking - I'm sure I wasn't out of radio range, so he could at least say "screw you I'm off home" or something so you know that you've failed the mission...

Thank you for your help guys. Stick to the wingman from the moment you lift off, follow him and the orders he gives on the radio, and I the mission will be a sucess. Mine was.

Pressing the quite button when you get the missions success notification is a little off putting for me. I have just completed the first missions after the FAM mission ( first campaign )and the successful mission notification comes up while your still over the convoy which would negate the need for fly back to the base and land, which IMHO would remove the immersion within the game.

Just a thought.
