taffy001 Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) Solved this problem. The NEW SSD was just too slow and had trouble swapping data at required speed. Bought a better unit and re-installed and all working good now Taffy Edited July 31 by taffy001 1
jackd Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Curious: What was the slow brand and type? I started with samsungs and never changed brand sofar ..
taffy001 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Hi jackd The dodgy unit was a Seagate Expansion 2TB SSD Portable Hard Drive - Black ($128.00AUD from Harvey Norman). I had 2 of them, both brand new and both scored around 75 on the Crystal Mark testing. I replaced it with a new ADATA Elite SE880 USB-C Portable SSD 2TB Drive ($250.00AUD) and had approx 500 score with Crystal Mark ( - 1000 score if installed via USB - C). So much better and worked like a dream Regards STKM2000400 763649160473
TheBiggerBass Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The 2TB SSD in my PC was getting a bit crowded with Win11, DCS, lots of apps ect. I added another M2 SSD (WD_BLACK SN850X 8TB with heat sink) and migrated DCS world (approx. 1,2TB in my installation). Saved Games (approx. 166GB) is left untouched on the 2TB SSD. That migration was nothing more than just a simple copy plus renaming some shortcuts and works fine since 3 weeks. 1 System: HP Z2 Tower, Win11 24H2, i9-14900K, 64GB RAM, 8TB SSD (M2) + 18TB HDD (Sata), GeForce RTX4070 TI Super 16GB VRAM, Samsung Odyssey 57" curved monitor (main screen) + BenQ 32" UW3270 (secondary screen), VKB Gunfighter Ultimate MK4 + S-TECS Throttle DCS: All terrains, allmost all modules, most user flyable mods - CA, WWII Assets
