pixie Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 Hi, I have a color banding issue on the night skies. As if the color depth were coded in 8 or 16bits. Is this a known bug with a solution ? FWIW I have a 3080TI , and a cable-linked Quest 2. ODT is set to force encoding at 500Mbps, so I suppose it's not a video compression issue. Any settings I could have missed ? Thx.
Supmua Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 It could still be compressed video issue, unless your DCS gamma setting is too high. You can test for this by going to any LCD/display test website in VR and check the page that has black levels chart or gradient. Also, NVCP gamma setting has zero effect on VR display. Hellbat Posted January 15, 2023 Posted January 15, 2023 When I upgraded to a wide-gamut 10-bit monitor I also noticed banding at night and on darker skies. I fixed it with the debanding filter in Reshade and now it is barely noticeable.
